ABOUT US
Spatial Technology (UK) was setup in the Spring of 2008 by Ian Rudd and Chris Wooding."We have been working with Spatial Technology of Sweden for several years and decided to focus completely on bringing their leading Scandinavian Technology and expertise to the UK."
Ian and Chris have more years of experience in information management and GI than they readily admit to and are great advocates of common sense in software solutions.

Ian Rudd - Managing Director
After many years as a Photogrammetrist with the MOD and gaining a degree in Computer Science, Ian worked as a systems engineer for British Aerospace gaining vital systems experience in data management and production systems. This was followed by a stint in Quality Assurance at both the Milk Marketing Board and Unisys Banking Systems. Ian then went back to his mapping roots and became the European then Worldwide Support Manager for the Unisys GIS Program. This was then followed by roles within the MapInfo SpatialWare development team and then working with Address Management solutions at Aligned Assets. Ian combines wit and charm with a great deal of practical experience and commonsense.
Chris Wooding - Technical Director
Chris has extensive IT experience starting in the early eighties programming and data processing on mainframe systems. After a few years in the open air running his building and landscaping business he joined a Local Authority computer department just as PCs were beginning to be dangerous. Chris was heavily involved with the migration from mainframes to PC based systems including setting up File Servers and the network infrastructure gaining a Master Certified Novell Engineer certification on the way. After spending several years as IT support manager he was seduced by GIS and became the Corporate GIS manager where he realised the importance of the National Land and Property Gazetteer to the UK. He was a recipient of one of the first NLPG exemplar awards in 2003 and then worked with Aligned Assets in Address Management alongside Ian. Chris has a wide range of experience in and around IT with a highly practical approach, he can build a gazebo as well as a computer system but says he "doesn't do that anymore".
